| Description of Services: | The C.H.I.P.S. Project offers help with any academic needs as related to students in compromised living situations as defined by the Federal McKinney-Vento Act.. Enrollment, lost immunization records, grade placement, tutoring, free meals at school, any school materials needed, scholarship assistance, fee waivers for student school related activities and referrals for other services |

| Other Information: | Every Monroe County School has a designated staff liaison on site to assist students & their parents with their enrollment issues and progress assistance. The definition of “homeless children and youth” means children who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence and includes children & youth who are sharing the housing of others due to loss of housing(doubled up), economic hardship, or similar reason; are living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, campgrounds, cars, abandoned buildings, or anchored boats without services; due to a lack of choice; living in emergency or transitional shelters; abandoned in hospitals; or awaiting foster care placement; or whose primary nighttime residence is not designed as sleeping accommodations for humans. |
